In late September 2024, Hurricane Helene caused widespread havoc throughout the Southeastern U.S. – in Florida, Georgia, the Carolinas, Tennessee, and Virginia. Two weeks later in early October, Hurricane Milton caused much damage as it plowed across central Florida.
Many charitable organizations are still there working to provide disaster relief but they need your financial help to continue to help those in need. Hillside Baptist Church encourages you to consider the following ways you can join the relief effort.
Send Relief – Southern Baptists have established nearly two dozen Hurricane Helene response sites across six states with more expected to come online as Southern Baptist Disaster Relief leadership and volunteers are able to access counties that have been cutoff due to catastrophic flooding.

To date, they have trucked in 182 new campers to displaced families, ensuring they have a safe and temporary place to call home. They have also started the Winter Warmth Initiative to keep these families warm during winter by partnering with local businesses like Blossman Propane to provide propane refills, ensuring no family goes without heat.
